Vitrification Solutions

One of the major causes of damage to oocytes and embryos during vitrification is moving on to the next step before reaching equilibrium. In the past, embryologists relied on their experience to determine whether equilibrium had been reached, however, a specific gravity difference in REPROLIFE’s vitrification solution means that anyone can easily accurately determine whether equilibrium has been attained. At the same time, toxicity is also reduced. REPROLIFE strives to make this procedure, which must be conducted under a time limit, as simple and stress-free as possible.

Warming Solutions

A major issue when thawing has been the effect that sudden changes in osmotic pressure can have on oocytes and embryos. The over-expansion (hyper-hydration) that can occur as a result of these changes can cause damage to cells and cytoskeletons. Cryotec Preservation minimizes the difference in osmotic pressure of the various solutions while adding hydroxypropyl cellulose (HPC). This increases viscosity and achieves a gradual and safe dilution.

  • Loading is made extremely simple owing to built-in grooves in which to place the straw (Cryotec).
  • Height and size adjustments improve ease of manipulation with minimal microscope operation.
  • Round-bottom wells eliminate shadows caused by light refraction, making it harder to lose sight of oocytes and embryos.
  • Operability is simplified due to waste-fluid drains on the side of wells.
  • The round-bottomed shape of wells helps prevent the raveling of liquid build-up when bringing the previous solution to the bottom of the well, enabling exceptionally slow dilution, which is gentle on oocytes and embryos.

The thick handle does not only improve operability, but also makes it easier to fill in patient information within the straws. In addition, REEPROLIFE also developed the thin sheet with optimal width to suppress the generation of air bubbles that occur frequently during thawing.
